During a Winter storm in 2012 the 'EDRO III' freighter carrying grain, lost steering and ended up wedged onto a reef, butted up against the coastline near Oniros restaurant, not far from Coral Bay. And what a landmark it has become - a Kalliopi Dive College favourite!
With easy access and depths varying from 2 to 12 metres, this stunning ship wreck dive site is great for all levels of Scuba divers. Heading down, there are two anchor chains leading out in different directions. The Anchor points themselves have become mini ecosystems offering fantastic macro photo opportunities for the underwater photographer. There are two separate reefs to visit, regular meeting points for the local marine life, with schools of Barricuda, Seabream, Wrasse, Octopus, and even the occasional Stingray on offer while Scuba diving around the area of this stricken wreck.
If, while diving in Paphos, double dives are your preference, this local site doesn't disappoint. 'The Channel', is a location renowned as much for its beauty above the water as below it. With a large rock wall running parallel to the shore, a natural gully or channel is created with maximum depths of 5 to 6 metres which is littered with crustaceans and marine life filling every nook and crannie. There are two small caves on offer with easy access, open above and below the water, perfect for the amateur cave diver and explorer.
